FAQs

What can my dog do at The DOGHOUSE?

The DOGHOUSE understands each dog is unique. This requires various aspects that we can introduce to your dog in order to tailor your dogs educational experience with us. Includes: structured socialization (NOT daycare), boarding, training, grooming, sport classes and private dog park rentals.

How soon can my dog meet other dogs?

We do not require any belongings with your dog during their day stays with us.

We do ask that your dogs belongings stay to a minimum if possible.

We do provide bedding (at no extra charge) to all dogs unless they are chewers or you request not to have blankets with them. You may also bring your own from home.

No need for training collars or harnesses as we remove all apparel from your dog while they stay with us. Bringing your dog in on a flat collar and leash (or a slip lead) is appreciated. Dogs must be leashed on arrival and departure.

If you choose to bring something for them to chew on while they are resting in their own individual space, you may do so. We do not offer resources in our structured social groups (no toys, bones etc.) but can play with them individually if required.

Our feeding times are scheduled numerous times per day; therefore if your dog requires any daytime meals (that you provide) or you have a late pick up during dinner time, we will ensure they are fed. Our feeding times are as follows: 6:00am, 12:00pm, 3:00pm, and 5:00pm

If your dog requires medication administration, do not hesitate to ask. With two previously certified Animal Health Technicians and two certified canine first aid staff members, we have you covered.

All dogs have access to water in their individual space as well as in play yards at all times.

How much notice do I need to book for a DAY DROP-IN?

We recommend you BOOK A TOUR before using any of our services. This will help give you a good understanding of our day to day operations and piece of mind knowing where your dog is staying.

Online requests (offered to existing clients & members) are required with 48 hour notice in order to be approved. We cannot accommodate anything less than 48 hours to pass holders. MEMBERS ONLY 24 hour notice for day stay changes.

To cancel or reschedule day-stays, 24 hours notice is REQUIRED or that day will be forfeited.

Visit our RESERVATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY for more information.

How involved can I be with my dog's experience?

While we encourage our canine pawrents to be actively involved in our community, there is no obligation to do so. As a member of The DOGHOUSE we do offer many perks (check out the BECOME A MEMBER page). Opportunities to volunteer your time at The DOGHOUSE or within the rescue area of our organization is always welcomed and appreciated.

Are there any added costs to my membership?

After the two week experience of $149 (plus gst), there is an option to become a member. Memberships are offered at a full time or part time rate which includes everything The DOGHOUSE has to offer. See our BECOME A MEMBER page for more information.
